Our Sustainable School
Tree planting at Clyst Heath with the Devon wildlife trust. With the help of the Wildlife trust we have an impressive array of tree’s planted in our school grounds! We have a hedgerow in our wildlife area that every child in the school helped to plant. In our foundation unit garden we have a range of established fruit trees, including plum, pear and apple. We also have a range of fruit trees outside all of our Key Stage one classrooms. Soon we hope to be able to enjoy eating Clyst Heath fruit together.
November is 'Energy Month' - a time to think about how we can save energy at home and school. We will be taking part in switch off fortnight in school and you can join in at home- here are some top tips.
At Clyst Heath we have a sustainable travel ranking ‘A’ , which is the best we can be! We have achieved this with your help and support, its important as many of you as possible keep walking, scooting or riding to school as often as possible, to find out more about this, please visit our ‘travel plan page’
The Pond area
Our pond is teeming with frogspawn at the moment, several classes are watching tadpoles grow in their class room. It wont be long before we have 100’s of tiny frogs hopping around the pond!
